SAEs

A Supervised Agricultural Experience, or SAE, is a fundamental part of having a successful experience as an agriculture student and FFA member. An SAE is where students take the information they have learned as an ag student and apply it to situations they find in real life, such as raising livestock or even educating kids about agriculture. The goal of an SAE is not only to further develop a student's ability to apply their agriculture education, but also to get them to practice independence and responsibility.

There is a huge collection of SAEs you can participate in, but they can be outlined with the following list:

-Ownership/Entrepreneurship
-Placement/Internship
-Research
-Exploratory
-School-Based Learning
-Service-Learning

It is important to have an SAE in order for an FFA member to receive their State FFA Degree and American FFA Degree. Having an SAE can also help when applying for many scholarships that the National FFA Organization and Tennessee FFA gives to students every year.
If you have any questions about how to participate in an SAE, ask an officer or an advisor today!
